The MissionRestoring Dignity and Freedom
Did you know? The USA Leads the World in Human Sex Trafficking. Human sex trafficking is not something that happens in those other countries. It is here. It is in your neighborhood. 83% of victims in confirmed sex-trafficking incidents were identified as U.S. citizens.
Human sex trafficking is the third largest criminal activity in the world. Help us help the oppressed, exploited, and enslaved. You can help save someone from a life of trauma and distress.
Our Mission is to restore dignity, freedom, and a new life to victims of commercial sexual exploitation by creating a safe, secure, loving, and nurturing community where healing occurs and a new life begins.
How does it impact usLocally
Sex trafficking happens anywhere and can happen to anyone. Pittsburgh is among the top 10 cities of human trafficking in the United States. The location provides the perfect opportunity for traffickers to recruit victims, and the highways provide easy access to the surrounding states and regions.

Like Ellyssa,
many women experience psychological, emotional and physical distress. Individuals impacted by sex trafficking struggle with addiction, trauma, poverty, and homelessness. While each survivor has unique circumstances and needs, all require support to gain:
1. Independence
2. Safe Living Environments
3. Trauma-Informed Care
4. Job and Life-Skills Training
See how Living in Liberty Takes ActionSupporting survivors since 2012
Since 2012, Living in Liberty has fought to stop sex trafficking and support survivors through education, outreach, and shelter.

Outreach
In Street Outreach, our teams take to the streets with the mission of connecting with exploited women. We invite these women to our Women’s Care center in which we provide a warm meal, a hot shower, laundry service, hygiene products, clean clothes, and other basic necessities. This is an opportunity for us to continue to build a relationship with the women we encounter.
Education
Our Awareness and Prevention Team works to provide an environment where others can learn to identify, understand, and advocate for the issue of commercial sexual exploitation. We are committed to raise up a community of informed activists who are empowered to support efforts directed at prevention, identification, and intervention.
Shelter
Our safe home is a loving, nurturing community where women exiting commercial sexual exploitation may reside as they transition into a new life of independence and freedom. It is a five-phase program where they are supported in creating a new life for themselves.Project DetailsTiny Homes
